Member of the Presidential Leadership Council, Lieutenant General Mahmoud Al-Subaihi, met today in the temporary capital, Aden, with Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Dr. Afrah Al-Zouba.

During the meeting, Dr. Al-Zouba briefed the Presidential Leadership Council member on the Ministry’s activities over the past period, including its efforts to strengthen cooperation with international partners and the donor community, particularly the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group. She also outlined the Ministry’s work to identify national development and humanitarian priorities in line with the country’s needs and to support improvements in public services and living conditions.

The Minister also reviewed the Ministry’s current and future programmes, particularly those related to coordinating humanitarian response efforts and advancing the transition from emergency relief to sustainable development and reconstruction.

Lieutenant General Al-Subaihi commended the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation for its efforts and its vital role within the government in restoring the path toward economic growth and recovery, strengthening confidence with the international donor community, and ensuring the continuation of international support across all sectors.

He also stressed the importance of providing the necessary facilitation and removing obstacles and restrictions facing humanitarian organizations to enable relief assistance to reach those most in need throughout the country.
